Online Sportsbook sponsors front-shirt for Brisbane Roar in Liverpool FC exhibition

Ladbrokes is no stranger to peddling the Brisbane Roar. The online sportsbook giant has been delivering odds on the football club for years, giving punters the chance to earn some cash with a propitious wager. But on July 17, Ladbrokes will undertake a new form of participation in the club’s future, having agreed to a front-shirt sponsorship of Brisbane Roar during the upcoming Liverpool FC match.

The Hyundai A-League Brisbane Roar have been given an incredible opportunity to face off against the legendary Liverpool FC of the English Premier League, not to mention an excellent opportunity for the online sportsbook to gain more recognition in the region. The epic exhibition match is scheduled for Friday, July 17, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland.

The one-off match was confirmed in February by a press release issued from Anfield in which Ian Ayre, Chief Executive Officer of Liverpool FC, exalted their fans from Down Under.

Online Sportsbook Ladbrokes to sponsor Brisbane Roar“We visited Australia for the first time two years ago and the support we received from our Australian fans was incredible,” said Ayre. “Liverpool FC has over 600,000 supporters in Australia and we look forward to meeting as many of them as possible while we are in the country.”

The CEO went on the explain that, “Pre-season is an important time for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and the matches against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United are an exciting part of that preparation, giving our supporters a chance to see the team up close, no matter how far away from Anfield they live.”

Ladbrokes is thrilled to be sponsoring the Brisbane Roar next week. The online sportsbook has supported leagues in the past, including Brisbane’s own A-League Football Club, but never in such a capacity as this. The front-shirt sponsorship will display the Ladbrokes logo on the face of each player’s jersey for all to observe.

“This is the first time Ladbrokes have had front-of-shirt position on a jersey and we are delighted that it is for such a high-profile game,” said an enthusiastic James Burnett, Chief Marketing Officer for the online sportsbook’s Australian headquarters.

John Aloisi was equally enthusiastic about the opportunity to be a part of Liverpool FC’s pre-season schedule. Aloisi was just recently appointed as the Brisbane Roar’s new head coach, and this upcoming demonstration of both team’s reputable skills will be one of his first undertakings as the Roar’s commander.

Founded by John Houlding in 1892 and managed by Brendan Rodgers, the Premier League Liverpool FC hold the record for most European trophies, including 5 European Cups, 3 UEFA Cups and 3 UEFA Super Cups. The team also has 18 League Titles, 7 FA Cups and the highest number of League Cups in the sport’s history with 8.

The Brisbane Roar will certainly have their work cut out for them as the friendly match gets underway, but they aren’t lacking in talent themselves. After joining the A-League in the 2005-06 season, the FC has captured 2 Premierships, 3 Championships and has participated in AFC Championship League competitions on two occasions.

Brisbane Roar is the only team to have won A-League Championships in back-to-back seasons, and holds the record for longest undefeated streak of 36 consecutive unbeaten matches. Ladbrokes worked with the A-League Football Club on a lesser scale last season, and the online sportsbook hopes to keep the relationship going for many seasons to come.
