Hard Rock Casino: Bigger and Better in Sioux City, Iowa

Hard Rock Casino Sioux City, IowaWhat’s better than a grand casino with a globally recognized name? And even bigger one! That’s what the owners of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, Iowa thought when they applied for the rights to expand the size of the casino gaming floor with new slot machines, table games and a high limit area for VIP players.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission gave the application their unanimous stamp of approval this week, agreeing to a $6.5 million expansion project that will see the Hard Rock Casino’s gaming floor extended by an additional 7,857 square feet.

The extra additions to the casino floor will include 60 new slot machines, 2 new live dealer blackjack tables, and a special high limit gaming area designed to accommodate the resort’s more affluent gamblers.

The expansion of Hard Rock’s casino gaming floor is projected for completion in early 2017.

Giving Players What They Want

According to Todd Moyer, General Manager of Sioux City’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, it wasn’t exactly their idea to embark on such an extensive project.

“The expansion ideas truly came from our guests,” said Moyer. “They told us they wanted an exclusive area to play, more blackjack tables and an elevated lounge experience. This new space accomplishes all of that in a very fun, creative way.”

Other New Features

To complement the new slots, table games and high limit lounge, the Hard Rock Casino is erecting a grand centerpiece – an elaborate wine bar destined to feature an immense variety of 125 different labels, with about three dozen available for order by the glass.

The new high limit area will feature its very own cashier cage, private lounge and dining area, with dedicated gaming options that offer higher stakes than the current casino gaming floor. And of course, it wouldn’t be the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino if it wasn’t set to feature a whole new collection of rock and rock memorabilia.

Management isn’t disclosing exactly what iconic musical paraphernalia will decorate the new casino gaming area just yet. I guess we’ll have to wait for the elaborate unveiling come early next year.
